Detailed Job Description
Assistant Professor - exercise science
Teach courses in clinical exercise physiology, physical activity and health, exercise testing and prescription, and/or related areas. Advise undergraduate and graduate students. Facilitate and supervise student research and fieldwork experiences. Conduct high quality research and seek external funding. Provide service to the department, division, university, and profession. Other duties as directed by Department Chair.
Doctoral degree in exercise science or related area; ABDs will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be completed by the time of appointment; promise of high quality research; potential for high quality graduate and undergraduate teaching in exercise science. Knowledge of, or experience in, working with diverse populations.
Professional experience in clinical exercise science; a clinical certification exercise physiology from an entity such as the American College of Sports Medicine or an exercise physiologist certification from the American Society of Exercise Physiologists. Experience with innovative teaching technologies, including development of online or hybrid courses. International experience.
