The Adler School of Professional Psychology, founded in 1952, is the oldest independent school of psychology in North America. The School provides graduate education in psychology and health service delivery with campuses in the heart of downtown Chicago and downtown Vancouver.
The Harold and Birdie Mosak Library is a dynamic partner in mentoring socially responsible practitioners through learning, research, and individual service. The Library collaborates with faculty, clinicians, and researchers to support students in their progress to achieve the Adler School’s institutional learning outcomes. The Mosak Library is a governing member of CARLI, and participates in the I-Share integrated library system that serves as the online catalog for 85 member libraries in Illinois.
The Library licenses over 50 research databases in psychology and the related social sciences, full-text electronic content from more than 56,000 unique journal titles, over 80,000 academic e-books, and several collections of newspapers. The print collection at the Chicago campus comprises approximately 17,000 circulating books, over 100 print journal titles, and more than 500 instructional audiovisual materials.
The Harold and Birdie Mosak Library seeks an experienced, enthusiastic Access Services Librarian to contribute to a value-centered and growing institution. As an integral part of the Library Team, the Access Services Librarian manages the patron-facing services related to identifying and obtaining materials via interlibrary loan, through our consortial partner institutions, and within the Harold and Birdie Mosak Library.
The Access Services Librarian will report to the Technical Services Librarian. This position is responsible for all interlibrary loan and document delivery services using ILLiad, including training and supervision of student assistants. The Access Services Librarian ensures compliance with all standards relating to interlibrary loan, manages I-Share Universal Borrowing processes, and works with the Technical Services Librarian on system upgrades. The staff of four librarians performs backup duties for each other in all Library service areas as needed.
This position may have occasional evening or weekend hours to provide support to faculty and students.
