Detailed Job Description

Assist in the organization and implementation of athletic and special events for the athletic department.


Supervise undergraduate/graduate event management interns in preparation for regular and post season athletic events.

Oversee usher supervisor and usher training/evaluation.

Prepare, update and maintain game day management materials.

Facilitate communication between internal and external units regarding game day management.

Oversee ancillary event set up for ticketed sports.

Organize and assign game day staff.

Assist in the continual communications of event information to staff and other constituents.

Compilation and tracking of operational finances.

Assist in trouble shooting and problem solving during events.

Primary sport responsibilities will be determined based on applicant's knowledge and experience.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in sports administration/management or related field

Strong computer literacy in Windows, Excel, Word and Publisher as well as internet functions.

Must have strong written and oral communication skills

Minimum of 1-2 years of event management experience at an NCAA institution or a professional sporting organization.

Must demonstrate the majority of the following: a strong work ethic, good time management skills, ability to self motivate, want to excel and establish a career in athletics, should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change, organized, highly responsible, flexible and mature, have a positive attitude, able to accept direction and constructive criticism, able to work on multiple projects, and the ability to prioritize events and/or circumstances is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

A graduate degree in sports administration/management or related field.

2 or more years' experience in game day management.

Hockey event management experience.
