Detailed Job Description
Assistant Director to foster the learning and development of high-ability students; promote the liberal education of our students through a range of in-class and out-of-class programming and advisement.
Assistant Director to advise honors students in fulfilling their requirements and developing their plans of study; partner with divisional advising offices and advisors in selected academic departments to create a unified and developmental approach to advisement for students; assist with summer orientation; serve on committees; other duties as assigned.
Require: Master's degree in any discipline; experience working with high-ability and diverse populations; one-to-two years of administrative or other relevant experience in a college or university setting that can include work done as part of an educational program; excellent organizational and writing skills; dynamic public speaking and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively; functional knowledge of computer technology including Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Desire: Experience working in or serving as a student in an honors program or other program serving high-ability students; demonstrated ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with a wide set of constituencies; learning-centered philosophy; commitment to serving a diverse, high-ability student body; knowledge of Native Banner.
