The Howe Center for Writing Excellence (HCWE) seeks a Program Coordinator with experience in working with ESL writers to oversee the Center's outreach projects to students and to serve as an expert consultant to ESL students and Center tutors. The Program Coordinator will work as part of a team, with the HCWE Manager, Associate Director, and Director.

Duties

Coordinate special events, projects, and outreach; support NNES students at Miami by developing and managing outreach programs and writing workshops; act as liaison between ESL Committee, the ACE program, International Student and Scholar Services and the Howe Writing Center; consult regularly in the Howe Writing Center; provide consultations, workshops, and writing support to graduate students; develop and deliver training materials for the Howe Writing Center; coordinate the work of the Chinese Scholars Program; manage satellite writing centers in Peabody, Bachelor, B.E.S.T Library and Gross Center; coordinate class visits for the promotion of the Howe Writing Center; organize and facilitate student orientations to the Howe Writing Center; participate in ongoing consultant preparation, assessment of the HCWE, and long-range planning.

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree in Composition, ESL, or closely related field.
Experience with ESL required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in writing centers or the teaching of writing highly desired.
