GRANT ACCOUNTANT - JOB #2210
The Grant Accountant position is a full-time professional/managerial position. This position reports to the Assistant Comptroller and will assist in the interpretation and implementation of federal and state laws and rules for the College’s financial accounting procedures and internal controls relating to the expenditure of restricted funds; maintain financial information for restricted funds, prepare financial and related reports as mandated by federal and state laws; prepare and update College’s online accounting system to reflect appropriate fund adjustments; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manual; and present information to managers, clients, and general public. Additionally, duties to be performed include, but are not limited to the following: prepare budget amendments and journal entries; reconcile restricted fund accounts, investigate discrepancies, and take appropriate actions as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer working knowledge of federal and non-federal regulations with experience in governmental and/or non-profit accounting; knowledge of general accounting, financial management, or restricted accounting; knowledge of grantor regulations related to sponsored programs; knowledge and use of business productivity software, i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent customer service experience; and strong verbal and written communication skills.
SALARY RANGE: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable. However, the college does not generally hire at the top of the range.)
