REVISED POSTING

PART-TIME ESOL INSTRUCTORS: CENTER FOR ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND PRACTITIONERS: (Riverwalk Campus, Lawrence, MA) (MCCC/MTA Unit Position)

Teach classes for the Bridge to College and Careers in Health Program: Fall 2014 (15-18 hours/week) M/W/Th 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. plus planning and staff meetings 4:00-6:00 PM. Spring 2015 (10-12 hours/week) M/W 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. plus planning and staff meetings 4:00-6:00 PM.

BESL – 8 hours/week, Tu/Th, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. plus planning and staff meetings - monthly

Anticipated Start Date: August 19, 2014

  • Teach two classes per week of contextualized ESOL. integrate College and Career Readiness Standards/CCRSAE and career awareness content.
  • Use curriculum to select/adapt/develop appropriate materials/methods that encourage student achievement.
  • Incorporate college and career goal-setting using Integrating Career Awareness curriculum into classroom lessons and review goals monthly.
  • Collaborate with instructors, Coordinator, Advisor and Academic faculty to develop lesson plans.
  • Prepare a substitute packet.
  • Be on site 8 -18 (depends on the Program) hours per week each semester for combined teaching, common planning, staff meeting and prep time.
  • Record student attendance on box.net. share with Coordinator and/or Advisor.
  • Participate in program planning/common planning activities.
  • Participate in bimonthly peer observation.
  • Be observed monthly and evaluated annually.
  • Attend professional development and field trips (Bridge program) as required.
  • Attend pre-service workshop in August 19, 2014.
  • Adhere to staff policies and procedures listed in staff handbook.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Coordinator or Executive Director


Salary: $25.00 per hour, no fringe benefits
