Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Development Events and Communications, the Web Content Writer maintains and creates web pages, graphics, images, and other content for marketing and other communication purposes, works in web languages including but not limited to JavaScript, CSS, PHP, DHTML, and assist in all other duties relating to creation and maintenance of the digital presence of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of directly related experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in web design/graphic design/communications or a related field


Knowledge of web design, web content, and web marketing best practices.
Knowledge of graphic design best practices.
Knowledge of University web guidelines and procedures.
Knowledge of web content management systems, JavaScript, CSS, PHP and dynamic HTML.
Knowledge of multiple social media platforms.


Skill in web design/programming.
Skill in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Skill in writing and copy-editing.
Skill in design and lay-out.


Ability to multi-task despite multiple overlapping projects and deadlines.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and diverse workplace environment with rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work in a team environment with multiple constituencies and departments.
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Ability to be self-directed and proactive when accomplishing assignments with minimal supervision.

Pay Range

$14.45 to 18.06 per hour
