Oversees clinical experience for students and serves as a resource for adjunct faculty in the clinical setting; Coordinates the procedure for the evaluation of adjunct faculty teaching in the clinical setting; Assists in the instruction of practical nursing students in lecture, college laboratory, and the clinical setting; Serves as the in advising and guiding students; Assists in planning curriculum content and in developing course structure according to the Rules and Regulations, State of Ohio Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration; Serves as the lead person in the preparation of the program for national accreditation; Serves on the Admission & Progression and Program Evaluation Committees; Collects and analyzes data to support student success; Collaborates with Program Manager in outcomes assessment and program review.
Works collaboratively with Program Managers to expand program offerings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Graduate of an approved professional nursing education program.
Current, active, unencumbered/unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
A minimum of two year’s experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of basic nursing, including maternal-child nursing.
Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population.
Ability to work a combination of day/evening/weekend schedules.
Proficiency in word-processing and presentation software, Internet and email.
Master’s Degree in Nursing
Excellence in teaching and facilitating active learning for students using new technology and applying diverse instructional strategies in response to learner demographics and learning styles.
Understanding and embracing the mission of the community college.
Possessing the energy and persistence to motivate and support others to pursue the larger goal.
