The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine http://cmm.ucsd.edu within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are currently accepting applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, although applicants at the Associate and Full Professor levels may also be considered. Applicants should have a Ph.D., M.D. or combined M.D./Ph.D. and demonstrated ability to conduct a state of the art research program using modern techniques to investigate an area of science relevant to human disease. We are interested in all areas of modern biomedical science, including:

Biochemistry/Structural Biology
Biophysics
Cancer Biology
Cell Biology
Computational Biology/Bioinformatics
Developmental Biology
Genetics/Epigenetics/Genomics
Immunology
Neurobiology

Assistant-level candidates will be expected to show evidence of their career potential through letters of recommendation and a publication record appropriate for their experience. Associate-level candidates must show evidence of a strong independent research record in their specialization, and candidates at the Full Professor level must show evidence of a strong research record with a national and/or international reputation. The applicant is also expected to teach and perform research training of medical and graduate students as well as University service.

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong or potential accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego’s commitment to achieving excellence and diversity. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
