The University of La Verne College of Law invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Administrative Assistant to the Center for Academic & Bar Readiness.
This position is a full-time position. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
The College of Law is provisionally approved by the American Bar Association and offers both full-time day and part-time evening programs. It is located in Ontario, California, about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a complete background investigation. The hiring range for this position is dependent upon qualifications and departmental equity. Essential duties include assisting the Assistant Dean for the Center for Academic & Bar Readiness, as well as 3 other Center staff with report preparation, scheduling, travel, meetings, conferences, student confidential file management, expense reports, and correspondence. Office management duties include, but are not limited to: acting as liaison between the Center staff and Faculty, Staff, and Students regarding general information and announcements; managing budget accounts, preparing monthly analysis of budget reports, and controlling expenses; determining supplies to be purchased and stocked; preparing all check requests, purchase requisitions, and expense reimbursements; work of student workers; managing the Faculty Development fund accounts; preparing vacation/sick leave reports for full-time Center Staff/Faculty; managing travel arrangements for Center staff/faculty attending faculty/staff meetings and preparing meeting minutes; managing all personnel files; managing complex and confidential files; maintaining staffs’ calendars and, as needed, informing faculty and staff of meetings and events; performing miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean.
An Associate’s degree;
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook;
Strong oral and written communications skills;
Strong organization skills;
Basic accounting and budgeting skills
*Experience with managing schedules, expenses; drafting letters, email, etc.
*Experience with managing internal and external relationships
