Assistant Professor of Psychiatry sought by Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. 40 hrs/wk. Duties: Responsibilities will include inpatient psychiatry clinical service in the Department of Neurology & Psychiatry. Specifically, will: Supervise and educate residents and medical students in management and treatment of the patient; Provide medical services to patients with psychiatric conditions; Support academic medical program, and clinical operations; Counsel patients regarding their health; Review health records, obtain accurate medical histories, and assesses medical conditions; Complete clinical resumes, progress notes and orders; Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as delineated by medical privileges, including initiation of emergency stabilization; Order outpatient testing to facilitate prompt evaluation and treatment; Instruct and counsel patients pertaining to their conditions, including diets, social habits, medications, and treatment of illness and follow-up care; Provide health information to patients and their families; Participate in outpatient clinical duties and assists with communications to referring physicians; Attend and assist with preparation of conferences; Maintain working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures; Record, compile, and prepare reports and summaries; Performs other duties as assigned. Min. Requirements: Doctor of Medicine Degree or foreign equivalent; and License to practice Medicine in Missouri. Must be board eligible in psychiatry. Applicant must have completed a four year residency in an Accredited Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program in psychiatry.
