Under the direction of the Assistant Library Director-Public Services, provides front-line circulation services to a diverse population of patrons including students, faculty, staff, and community. Supervises and trains student personnel. Assists in managing an assigned circulation service to support a dynamic, open-enrollment university. Provide reference services to patrons from a variety of educational backgrounds.
Graduation from accredited institution with an associate’s degree OR a combination of education and experience related to the summary of duties totaling 2 years.
Knowledge of general library practices.
Skill in customer service, interpersonal communication and computer programs and software.
Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Ability to provide good customer service to a diverse population.
Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively in accordance with library and university policy.
Ability to express ideas and follow directions both orally and in writing.
Ability to file accurately in alphabetical and numeric order.
Ability to learn and take responsibility for assigned area within circulation.
Ability to train individuals and groups.
Ability to use computers and common computer applications as well as other standard office equipment and explain their use.
