The University of Washington Tacoma (UW Tacoma) invites applications for multiple positions in the Nursing and Healthcare Leadership Programs beginning September 16, 2015. Positions are available at the ranks of Assistant Professor (tenure-track, multi-year) or Senior Lecturer (non-tenure track, eligible for multi-year), based on qualifications and interest. These are full-time positions with a nine-month service period.
Applicants for tenure-track positions must have an earned doctorate (U.S. or foreign equivalent) by the time of appointment, evidence of active scholarship and teaching experience. At minimum, a Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) is required for the Senior Lecturer position. If the applicant is a licensed professional, she/he must be eligible for licensure in Washington State.
The Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Leadership (BA HCL) prepares students from diverse professions and backgrounds for careers in leadership positions across a spectrum of healthcare settings, including healthcare organizations, government, and industry. Preliminary planning has begun for the development of a Master 's Degree in Healthcare Leadership or a related field.
In addition to the BA HCL program, we offer two nursing degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and a Master of Nursing (MN). The BSN is designed for learners who are already registered nurses (RNs). The curriculum supports students in developing professionally. The MN program prepares RNs for practice in a range of settings as leaders, managers, care providers, and educators. Additionally, in collaboration with the Education Program, we offer a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (EdD) that includes a pathway for nurse educators.
