Frostburg State University, Programs Advancing Student Success (PASS), seeks applications for the full-time, 12-month exempt position of Instructional Coordinator for Developmental Mathematics. Salary commensurate with experience and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Developmental Mathematics, participate in a comprehensive academic support system. Instruct Developmental Mathematics courses and assist in providing and managing services to students in both developmental and lower-division Mathematics courses. Hire, train, and supervise student instructional staff. Instruct freshmen orientation courses and advise students.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field. Experience working with students in a teaching or tutoring role for Algebra-based courses. Effective communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative role as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mathematics or related field. Experience working with under-prepared or educationally disadvantaged students. Experience using alternative teaching strategies such as computer mediated learning. Knowledge of program assessment.
