Under the supervision of the Director of Instructional Design Services and often working in small teams this team member will work directly with faculty and staff to design, develop, and deliver technology-based educational media and interactive learning experiences. Exercises skills in current educational and internet technology, including major learning management systems, social media, office and multimedia software, and web development. Collaborates and coordinates with IDS team members. Manages individual and group projects, particularly new on-line course development. Maintains and assist in improving standards, processes, and procedures for educational media production. Develops strong, cooperative relationships with campus entities. Researches and develops educational tools, technologies, practices. Assesses and evaluates the appropriateness and effectiveness of technologies and educational media, as well as teaching and learning experiences. Trains and mentors faculty and staff on the use of technology to enhance teaching.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and one year experience related to Class Definition or an associate’s degree with three years experience or any combination of education and experience totaling five years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in Instructional Design, Technology, Education, or a related field and one year experience related to the essential duties.
Knowledge of and work-related experience in distance learning.
Knowledge of information technologies and social media.
Demonstrable skill (such as a portfolio) in developing and delivering creative learning experiences.
Ability to work as a team, lead small groups, and manage projects.
Ability to plan, manage, produce, direct, implement, and evaluate on-line course production.
Ability to use computers and operating systems, such as Windows, Mac OS, or Linux with great competence.
Ability to use a variety of distance education technologies including major learning management systems (e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle), office, and multimedia software.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
