Assists in the daily operation of the Academic Counseling Center. Administers and scores appropriate assessments to assist students/clients with career decisions. Provides administrative support to the Academic Counseling Center. Assists in the advisement of prospective, new, undecided, transfer, and continuing students of university policies, procedures, services, and resources.
This position is open to Current UVU Employees Only. An individual who meets at least one of the following criteria may apply for this position as an in-house applicant:
-Adjunct faculty status for at least two full semesters immediately prior to the position’s opening date, OR
-Non-Student Part-time hourly employee hired through the official University screening process, or informal hiring process employed a minimum of 12 consecutive months, working at least an average of 20 hours per week, immediately prior to the position’s opening date, OR
-Salaried employee employed a minimum of 6 consecutive months, working at least an average of 40 hours per week, immediately prior to the position’s opening date.
Knowledge of effective student advisement techniques.
Knowledge of content, curriculum, and graduation requirements.
Skill in public relations.
Skill in the use of office equipment and computers, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Banner.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to anticipate department and student needs.
Ability to work well as part of a team and to build and nurture strategic relationships within the ACC and across campus departments and divisions.
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and personalities.
