Wheaton College (IL) seeks candidates in Computer Science for an anticipated tenure track position at the assistant or associate professor rank to start in August 2015.
The primary commitment of a Wheaton College faculty member is to undergraduate teaching within a liberal arts context and from an intentionally Christian perspective. Wheaton College maintains faith and lifestyle expectations for all members of the college community.
The ideal candidate would possess a PhD in computer science, a commitment to undergraduate teaching and the potential for excellence in the classroom, enthusiasm for contributing to computer science curriculum and other areas of program development, a passion for mentoring undergraduates intellectually and spiritually and the ability to sustain, as a secondary activity, a program of research (or comparable scholarly activity) with which she or he can promote undergraduate research.
Applicants from a variety of specialties will be considered. Of particular interest are candidates who can teach a project-based software development course and candidates who can teach courses that support computational science across the college's Division of Natural Sciences.
