Detailed Job Description

The Program Director is responsible for the operations and overall administration of the UVU Cultural Envoy program which is comprised of university students who volunteer as outreach ambassadors through song, dance, presentations, and performances. The Program Director ensures seamless team management and development. Strategically directs and manages the Cultural Envoy group toward academic success. Establishes relationships with potential partners. Coordinates logistics and planning. Evaluates program outcomes. Creates and maintains a sustainable, high quality, academic learning community model in which participants grow, share, achieve, and complete their academic programs while celebrating their cultures and identities.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in and two years of experience related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge

Knowledge of cultural nuances, in particular those related to historically underrepresented groups.
Knowledge of student development and academic advising.
Knowledge of community development in higher education settings.
Knowledge of recruitment and retention strategies for Multicultural and International populations
Knowledge of public relations and communication strategies.
Knowledge of student safety practices.
Knowledge of computer equipment, various software programs and general office procedures.
Knowledge of multicultural and international performing arts.
Knowledge of budget management.
Knowledge of fundraising methods.

Pay Range

$39,889 to $53,186
