Wilson Library is seeking candidates to serve as assistant to the University Librarian and manage circulation, reserves, stacks, document delivery and interlibrary loan functions.
Supervise staff and manage operations in circulation, interlibrary loan, document delivery and stack services, including desk scheduling, statistics, overdue billing, and the collection of fines; interview, hire, assess work load, set planning goals, establish priorities, conduct performance evaluations; cross-train to ensure backup throughout the department; coordinate 24 hr finals scheduling and programming; serve as back up, when necessary, for evening and weekend hours. Provide technical support, training and serve as resource specialist for Millennium Circulation and ILLIAD software.
Process all invoices, purchase orders, requisitions, check requests related to circulation, interlibrary loan, supplies, travel and equipment for library administration and endowment budgets; provide University Librarian with a monthly state of budget report.
Assist University Librarian with scheduling of meetings, gathering agenda items and recording minutes
Assist University Librarian with administrative tasks such as time card, vacation request and new hires processing; maintaining up-to-date information, policies, procedures on the library intranet; upkeep of facilty. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, policies, forms and training manuals. Serve as liaison to campus facilities, payroll, human resources, and housekeeping.
Assist the University Librarian with library events, displays, marketing and outreach services including monthly electronic newsletter.
Collaborate with Coordinator for Resource Development to assist the University Librarian in the development of annual budget proposal.
Assist University Librarian in managing library usage statistics; provide monthly state of library usage to all librarians and staff; assist University Librarian with national and federal library surveys.
Assist with special projects.
Bachelor’s degree; 3 years of academic library experience (especially with circulation and inter-library loan) and 3 years supervisory experience.
Experience with Millennium and ILLIAD inter-library loan system.
