Responsible for supporting the faculty and students of the Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) Program at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. The primary responsibilities will include maintenance and repair of associated facilities and electronic equipment in the EET program laboratories.
Such duties will include, but not be limited to, the following: Maintain a safe and secure EET laboratory environment; Testing and repair of all EET laboratory equipment; Maintain an inventory of all EET laboratory equipment; Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all EET laboratory equipment; Order necessary EET laboratory equipment; Maintain an appropriate inventory of necessary electronic components and supplies for all EET laboratory courses; Order necessary parts and equipment and supplies; Assist professors with laboratory preparation including laboratory setup; Coordinate with Engineering Technology Department chair and program coordinator to manage EET laboratory budget; Coordinate with ET department chair, EET program coordinator and EET faculty to make decisions regarding upgrading of existing laboratory equipment as program budgets allow; Maintain and upgrade, as budget allows, all EET laboratory computers; Maintain the EET software library while coordinating with the Information Technology (IT) department to keep all software installations as current as budgetary constraints allow; Coordinate with ET department chair, program coordinators and faculty to maintain an appropriate selection of software programs on ET computers; Coordinate, train and supervise EET work study laboratory technicians; Coordinate with manufacturers of classroom technology hardware to maintain and repair instructional technology; Provide assistance to new affiliate faculty with EET classroom and laboratory technology; Maintain EET program website and update as needed; Maintain smart boards as needed; Other duties as assigned by the ET department chair and EET program coordinator.
Minimum of an Associates of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline and four years of related experience. Familiarity with basic electronic test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers. Demonstrated experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Professional experience writing technical specifications and procedures. A working knowledge of SMART board software and web development tools.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline. Professional Engineers License or recent passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. A working knowledge of National Instruments LabView, Quartus II, Multisim and MATLAB software, C programming.
