In collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Communications and Advancement, the senior director of strategic marketing and communications directs the project management, creative services, institutional marketing, internal communications and brand development for Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Supervision: Manages team of 8-10 communications professionals.
*Administer the areas of project management, marketing, creative services, internal communications, web communications and social media to effectively position Metro State to its wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
*Works with the areas of Communications and Community Affairs, Development, Foundation, Enrollment Management, Alumni Relations, Athletics and other college offices to create large-scale, overarching marketing and strategic communications efforts that will support marketing, fundraising and enrollment goals.
*Translate college-wide initiatives and strategies to develop marketing objectives, strategies and plans.
*Develops and maintains college-wide internal communication strategies that engage, align and inspire faculty, staff and administrators with the Metro State vision and mission, while driving a greater understanding of key college priorities and initiatives.
*Identifies needs for market research, directs and implements studies and analyzes results.
*Provides analysis of consumer research, current market conditions and competitor information.
*Develops strategy and execution for college web site content, working with the Education
Technology Center and Information Technology to direct the College's web content management systems, navigation, design and user testing.
*Administers contracted services for content development, design projects and advertising plans, including the oversight for agency RFP, and the contract processes for vendors, freelance designers and writers, illustrators, and photographers. Performs the negotiation and management of these vendor relationships.
*Directs budgetary spending for project management, marketing, creative services, web communications and internal communications team.
*Leads overall brand and corporate identity strategy to ensure that brand messaging is consistent
throughout the institution.
*Represents the AVP at meetings and special committees where appropriate.
*Possesses excellent communication and diplomatic skills.
