Detailed Job Description

The Department of Health Professions at the Metropolitan State College of Denver is seeking applicants for a Tenure Track Faculty position in the Health Care Management program starting Fall 2012. The candidate will be an integral member of the Health Care Management (HCM) faculty as well as the Department of Health Professions and will be required to follow those responsibilities outlined in the MSCD Handbook for Professional Personnel.
Teach a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year and maintain 5 office hours per week to include advising and consultation with students. The successful candidate is expected to teach upper division health care management courses, such as health care finance, health economics, health law, health disparities, health care research, health care strategic planning, health information systems, and other courses related to health care management. Participate in program and curriculum development and evaluation. Advise students. Serve on Departmental, School, and College committees. Participate in appropriate professional and community activities. Fulfill other assigned duties requested by the Department Chair and/or HCM Program Coordinator.
Apply current computer and other technologies in the classroom, online, and hybrid formats. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree or ABD in related field.

Please be aware that if you are hired as an ABD that your doctorate must be completed by the time you apply for tenure or you will be ineligible for tenure.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in health care administration/management, health policy, health services, public health or health law. Teaching experience at the college level to include online teaching. Two years related teaching experience.
