The specific duties and responsibilities of the Instructor include, but not limited to the following:
Create course content and schedule lectures and lab assignments based on the curriculum, objectives and program schedule.
Oversee, coordinate and support the online learning activities of course instruction through Blackboard using student engagement techniques such as wiki, softchalk, and prezi.
Request and create Blackboard site for your course. This includes creating contact information page, releasing course content according to schedule, creating assignments, discussion boards, activities and assessments.
Provide program guidance and support to students enrolled.
Maintain timely communication to students responding to inquiries within 48 hours.
Maintain online “office hours” for instant messaging.
Maintain and provide weekly summary of class grades and participation to administrative staff.
Timely submission of grading of all activities to students.
Participate in conference calls and staff meetings.
Responsible for reading Tri-C email and SharePoint communications at least twice a week.
Submits grades and other requested data items on a timely basis.
Associate’s Degree in healthcare, IT, business, education, or other related to topic
Experience teaching in an online environment (Blackboard preferred).
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility, sense of urgency and effective teamwork.
Demonstrated record of handling multiple tasks, assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to prepare correspondence, general communications, presentations and reports.
Excellent organization, customer service, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in keyboarding, word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel), Microsoft PowerPoint, grammar and math skills.
Demonstrated command of internet and social networking tools.
Sensitivity to respond to the needs of a diverse population.
Three to five years of healthcare and/or IT work experience.
Standard College Hours: 8:30AM to 5:00PM
Online learning environment requires at least 1 hour live chat three times a week while class is in session
