The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks a Director for its Graduate Counseling and Psychology program. This position will include a 12-month Program Director appointment and a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty contract at least at the Associate Professor level, effective August 2011. UMHB offers the Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology. Five faculty teach over 50 students pursuing degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP accredited), Marriage and Family Christian Counseling, and School Counseling.
UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
The Graduate Counseling and Psychology Program Director will direct the program’s curriculum, student clinical placements (both internally at our own counseling center and externally at a variety of local agencies), CACREP accreditation process, program evaluation, learning outcomes, and faculty supervision. The Director’s teaching responsibilities are 2 courses per fall and spring semester. Additional compensation is paid for summer teaching.
• Doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education or related field required (prefer degree from CACREP accredited program)
• Current and valid Texas LPC or LMFT licensure (or ability to obtain TX license within 6 months of hire)
• At least 5 years higher education experience teaching in a Counseling or Counselor Education program
• At least 3 years higher education administration experience (Department Chair, Program Director or similar)
• Counselor Education and Supervision and CACREP program experience required
• Administrative and supervisory experience preferred
