The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Visual and Performing Arts has a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Music, beginning in August 2012. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include curriculum development; applied research; student recruitment and advising; professional/instruction development; and service to department college, university and the community. UMHB places emphasis upon teaching and academic research.
Music Faculty Responsibilities: Teach theory, aural skills, composition lessons, and music technology courses. This position will also coordinate the theory/aural skills curriculum and the music technology program, including curriculum, maintenance, upgrades, and the recording of all departmental concerts and recitals.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in theory and/or composition is required; ABD will be considered (tenure-track status requires terminal degree in hand). Experience with ProTools software in a professional recording studio and songwriting strongly preferred. Must be open to innovative approaches to teaching and curriculum, as well as be an active, committed Christian.
