FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL STAFF ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: (Non-Unit Professional Position) Haverhill Campus: 37.5 hours per week

Responsible for performing a wide range of administrative duties in support of the Dean of Professional Development, to ensure the positive, welcoming environment, and smooth operation of the Center for Professional Development including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate, schedule and arrange for workshops, events, conferences and meetings.
  • Coordinate professional development funding process, communicate with applicants, committee members, prepare documents, travel reimbursements, and payment authorizations and follow up.
  • Coordinate Computer classes/training, maintain statistics and needs assessment for follow-up.
  • Maintain the physical space of the CP, replenish office supplies and refreshments and arrange for maintenance or repairs.
  • Process appropriate travel, payment authorizations, and reimbursement paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records (registrations, budget statistics, evaluations, facilitators) for all CPD events, conferences, workshops.
  • Experience working with operational budgets, financial records, payments and contracts.
  • Creating and produce program flyers, brochures, web pages, and invitations to events for projects sponsored or co-sponsored by the Center for Professional Development.
  • Communicating in writing and verbally on behalf of the Dean and the Center for Professional Development to market programs, communicate logistics, follow-up with vendors/consultants.
  • Maintaining departmental website with updated information.
  • May supervise temporary or part-time employees.
  • Other duties as assigned

As necessary on a periodic basis the individual appointed to this position may be required to work during early evenings to accommodate the requirements of the work area.

Associates Degrees required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Three years full-time or equivalent experience required in office management/administration.  Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, high level of discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail. Must be organized, adaptable, self-directed, team player with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.  Superior technical skills, ability to learn quickly and high-level of comfort/experience with Microsoft Office.  Ability to work well with others at all levels, both internal and external to the College.  The successful candidate will be positive, flexible, dependable, and have a good sense of humor.

Salary: $40,000.00 - $60,000 with complete fringe benefit package; Actual salary will be commensurate with academic background and experience.
