Teaches courses within the core biology curriculum in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and/or Genetics, General Biology and Biotechnology. Develops and supervises a research program that promotes undergraduate student participation and results in peer-reviewed publication. Collaboratively and professionally, promotes the department, college, and collective and individual interests of the staff and students. Supports ways to fulfill the guiding concepts of the university.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a doctorate in a related academic field of study plus one year of teaching experience or a combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling nine years. Must have experience assessing student learning capabilities and learning styles and understand how to develop curriculum of assigned courses.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a doctorate and at least one year of related teaching experience and expertise in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and/or Genetics and Biotechnology or related field.
Knowledge of theory and practice of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and/or Genetics, and biotechnology and the research methods of those fields.
Skill in the instruction of lectures and laboratory exercises.
Ability to develop curriculum and teach design courses.
Ability to develop and maintain effective educational partnerships at the campus, local, state and national levels.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal).
Ability to supervise students and support staff.
