FACULTY POSITION IN ENVIRONMENTAL POLITICS AND POLICY
DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AND
UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO
The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of San Diego invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level with a focus on Environmental Politics and Policy beginning in fall 2015. Applicants should have completed a PhD in Political Science before September 2015.
The successful candidate will teach at least two policy-focused courses per year that would be cross-listed with the Department of Marine Science and Environmental Studies, and will have opportunities to collaborate in both teaching and research with other academic units on campus that focus on environmental policy. The position will be housed in the Department of Political Science and International Relations and departmental criteria will be applied toward retention, tenure, promotion, and merit pay. In addition to teaching specialized courses on environmental politics, policy, and related issues, the successful candidate will also be expected to teach other lower division, upper division, and graduate courses that fit with his or her substantive interests and meet the needs of the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
Candidates must be fully committed to liberal arts education and to excellence in teaching and student advising. Candidates must also demonstrate a significant and interesting scholarly agenda, and will be expected to engage actively at the departmental, college, and university levels. The normal teaching load is three courses every semester.
