Detailed Job Description

The Network Administration Specialist II (Computer Technology Specialist) is responsible for ensuring the functionality of the computers in the lab, both on and off campus, the implementation of various software packages as required by specific academic programs, and the setup of new equipment as needed. Duties will also include with Active Directory, imaging computers, assisting students, staff, and faculty as needed with network issues such as passwords and home directory concerns, and AV needs in the classroom and labs.  

Required Qualifications

Associate of Arts degree in Network Management, Computer Operations, Computer Repair or related field.
Three years of experience maintaining computer labs or networks.
Three years of working with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Mac OS. Demonstrated ability to work with computer related hardware and software. Demonstrated experience working with Active Directory. Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and inventories. Mechanical aptitude and ability to adhere to detailed instructions. Ability to lift 20 lbs with or without accommodations. Demonstrated organizational skills in maintaining labs and records. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends to meet the needs of the college. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; including a demonstrated commitment to providing superior customer service. Ability to work with minimal supervision and with attention to details and deadlines. Participate in a program of professional development to maintain and enhance technical skills. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with diverse student populations, faculty, staff.  

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Cisco equipment. Familiarity with Altiris or SCCM, Microsoft Office, Adobe software and Macintosh computers.
