Description of Duties:
The Medical Administrative Assistant will meet and greet patients, log patients into computer, schedule appointments in person and by phone. Check patients in and notify provider. Process lab requisitions and lab results, assist patients at desk, facilitate patient flow through office and various other office duties. Scan health forms, lab results, Doctor's notes and other medical information into EMR.
Additional Description of Duties: - Meet, greet and assist patients at the front desk, check patients in on Electronic Health Record System.
- Handle phone calls, voice mail and messages with attention to urgency and accuracy/ Schedule appointments by phone or in person.
- Scanning of medical information into EMR
- Answer general questions regarding insurance and immunization compliance.
- Shut down of department at the end of the day, labs signed and put out. Lock all rooms, files, drawers. Temperature read of refrigerator in med room, final sweep of all areas for anything left out.
High School Education plus 2 - 3 of years experience in a fast paced medical office; some college education preferred. Excellent customer service skills and decision making skills are required. Excellent ability to judge urgency of caller or person walking into office. Excellent judgement in notifying director of any urgent phone call or activity into the office. Ability to work well with colleagues in a small medical office is essential. Above average organizational, communication and computer skills along with the desire to become a member of a highly professional medical team strongly preferred.
Please provide schedule hours: Hours of this position: Tuesday's 10am-6pm and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9-5pm.
Months Per Year: This is a 9 month position.
