The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and expanding the technical areas of Identity and account authentication and access. This includes: maintenance of the processes; troubleshooting issues; analyzing and designing new processes and connectors; programming; and documenting new processes. Position provides leadership in the area of IAM process improvement for the University.
(35%) Monitoring and Maintenance of existing IAM processes:
Monitor daily provisioning process, and troubleshoot issues with job failures and missing identities/accounts. Make adjustments to the Oracle PL/SQL extract code from the ERP system, as needed. Manage non-automated account setup. Develop Single Sign On (SSO) processes. Make program changes to the processes when accounts/identities are missing or have errors. Manage the tools ( Centralized Authentication Server (CAS), Banner Enterprise Identity Systems (BEIS), etc.) used in the IAM processes.
(20%) Analysis and Design:
Design new account and access processes to accommodate changes in University provisioning rules, and the acquisition of new systems needing provisioning. Begin a process of continuous improvement to make existing processes more accurate and dependable. Translate business processes into solutions.
(20%) Program Development: Develop program code following specifications and appropriate industry standards using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Java, C or other software and programming languages, as appropriate.
Document existing and new processes, including architectural design drawings, technical specifications, and functional procedures.
(10%) ERP System Application Development and other duties, as assigned.
(5%) Mentoring/Training on Identity and Access Management (IAM) Concepts:
Mentor and train other technical staff on IAM concepts, and develop non-technical procedural documentation and communications for functional users.
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience in a Technology related field, 1 year of which must have included practical experience maintaining an Identity and Access management (IAM) system. A working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL or other SQL language.
