Are you a medical education pioneer? The Frank H. Netter, M.D., School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut is seeking visionary medical educators who will play vital roles in the shaping, growth and success of our new school of medicine which is focused on student centered instructional excellence; training of primary care physicians; and innovative interprofessional education. We seek passionate and collaborative faculty members committed to developing and implementing a program of study that is practical, relevant and comprehensive.
Currently, we are in a second phase of recruiting candidates who are broadly trained in their disciplines and dedicated to excellence in medical education. Candidates must have the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary , integrated medical instruction in lectures, laboratories and conferences, as well as facilitate problem-based learning with small groups of students. We anticipate welcoming students in the fall of 2013.
Required Minimum Qualifications
We are seeking applications for faculty members within the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at the PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND ASSISTANT PROFESSOR ranks. Applicants for these positions must possess a Ph.D., Sc.D., M.D., D.O., D.V.M., D.D.S., D.M.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent terminal degree with training in an applicable basic science discipline and a strong record of scholarship related to their area of expertise.
Previous experience in undergraduate medical education is required for consideration for appointment at the ranks of associate professor or professor. We are especially interested in applicants with broad training and experience in the following basic medical sciences:
- CELL BIOLOGY
- MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
- MICROBIOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY
- BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE
