 Saint Mary’s College of California is hiring an administrative assistant to support two academic departments in the school of liberal arts: (1) Communication, and (2) Theology and Religious Studies. The administrative assistant will work closely with both chairs to support the administrative functioning of the two departments including scheduling, computer input and budget tracking. The position assumes a high level of organizational skills and the ability to self-manage tasks. Duties also include technical proficiency in standard office productivity software and the ability to learn the college’s standard academic technical infrastructure including the Moodle learning management system, GaelXpress for tracking budgets and class schedules, Salli website maintenance software, and the Google suite of applications including Google Docs and Google Sites for the maintenance of the departmental online records. 

Experience and Qualifications:

The candidate must have good interpersonal skills when assisting students, faculty and department visitors, and must be a creative and capable writer with a desire to be part of a creative team. The position also requires developing a familiarity with media production equipment checked out by students in the Communication department.
