Under the direction of the Chair of the Marketing Department, leads the new “Writing Initiative” within the School of Business and upholds professional and ethical standards as appropriate. Teaches undergraduate courses in Business Communications. Tutors undergraduate business students in written communications and manages a staff of student tutors.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a terminal degree in a discipline directly related to the coursework being taught or master’s degree plus two years of experience in a related discipline. Demonstrated successful teaching at the college or university level is required.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a terminal degree or master’s degree in Business Communications, Communications, Business, or English plus two years of related experience. M.B.A. degrees are preferred. Five years of industry and professional experience outside of the classroom is highly respected and preferred.
Extensive knowledge of subject matter and course content, instructional strategies, and techniques.
Extensive knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.
Extensive knowledge of classroom evaluations, curriculum development, and program development and evaluation.
Effective human relations skills and communication techniques.
Skill in public speaking and report writing.
Ability to apply effectively general principles to specific conditions.
Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
Ability to work effectively with people.
