Detailed Job Description

Under direction of the Department Chair and the Dean of the College of Aviation and Public Service, teaches criminal justice courses and participates in a variety of learning environments and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a terminal degree in a related academic field of study plus one year of teaching experience. Must have experience assessing student learning capabilities and learning styles and understand how to develop curriculum of assigned courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a PhD degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice or a Master’s Degree with five years of teaching Criminal Justice in higher education. Evidence of teaching excellence is required.

Knowledge

Knowledge of the various aspects of the criminal justice field, including both personal experience, education, and various principles and methodology of teaching techniques.
Knowledge of leadership, instruction strategies, and curriculum development for current on-campus and online courses.
