Position Department: Annual Giving

Description of Duties:
The Director is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive, strategic, integrated effort to the build the base of donors and increase the level of support to the University. This position will plan and implement all facets of the Annual Giving Program including goal setting, fund raising strategy, performance monitoring and reporting, volunteer and staff management, and goal achievement in raising unrestricted and current use designated gifts.

Additional Description of Duties: The Annual Giving Program will focus on leadership level solicitations ($2,500 and above) through personal solicitation, and participation level gifts ($1 to $2,499) through direct mail, an on-site phonathon program, on-line giving, e-solicitations and other social media solicitation methods. The Director will work with Bentley staff and vendors to ensure the creation of compelling, innovative solicitation methods.

The Director manages six full-time staff and will be responsible for a team of volunteers to conduct leadership level peer solicitations.

Using the Millenium database, the Director will draw donor segments and evaluate segment performance to guide cultivation and solicitation strategy. Understanding marketing analytics and analyzing prior gift data is key to guiding the development of future donor segments and the creation of efficient and profitable solicitation strategies.

The Director will qualify and rate new donor prospects and will refer prospects to Major Gifts as appropriate.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
-BS or BA required w/min 5-10 years fundraising experience, pref in annual giving. College or university level exper. pref.
-Success in securing annual fund gifts of $10,000 and up is required.
-Strong management skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment required.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse campus and volunteer constituencies.
-Prioritizing and multi-tasking while meeting project timelines is a must.
-Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
-Excellent communication skills required.

Preferred qualifications:
-Prior experience in a comprehensive capital campaign is a plus.
-Prior experience with Millennium database systems preferred.

License(s) Required for the Position: Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.
