JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager of Foundation Operations, the Donor Engagement Specialist directs the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated stewardship and donor relations program that fosters a culture of appreciation, recognition, accountability and ongoing engagement of FIT’s donors, thereby strengthening philanthropic support of the institution.
Works closely with foundation staff, deans/department heads, and key administrators to provide to FIT's stakeholders regular and accurate stewardship reports on the use and impact of their gifts and the status of their endowments, as applicable.
Serves as an advisor to fundraisers and will partner with gift officers to develop individualized stewardship plans for high-level donors as well as effective university-wide stewardship activities.
Evaluates and coordinates revisions to the existing donor acknowledgment process to ensure appropriate, consistent and equitable acknowledgment of gifts at all levels.
In collaboration with the Controller's Office creates and leads a process of ongoing monitoring of gift usage to ensure compliance with donor intentions.
Creates standards and protocols for: stewardship and donor relations activities; stewardship planning for major gift donors; student and faculty involvement in stewarding scholarship and named chair/professor donors; recognition materials and events; and giving societies.
Develops, recommends, and implements metrics for assessing the effectiveness of stewardship
activities and events.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
