Full Time Tenure and Non-Tenure Track Nursing Faculty Positions
Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences
The University invites applications for two tenure track and two non-tenure track full-time positions in the Department of Nursing that is situated in the School of Health and Natural Sciences. The positions are scheduled to begin in either August 2014 or January 2015, depending on candidate availability. The successful candidates will have a strong background in teaching and scholarship as well as demonstrated content expertise. Candidates with specific knowledge and clinical experience in psychiatric mental health, pediatrics, and medical-surgical nursing are preferred.
Use of researched best practices for educating undergraduate, graduate & DNP nursing students
Classroom, clinical, and online teaching of undergraduate and graduate students
Community outreach to agency partners
Committee work at the department, school and University levels
Contribute to the curriculum by assessment, evaluation, and modification as needed
Developing or continuing an active program of research (tenure track only)
Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP)
In-depth clinical experience in psychiatric, pediatric or medical-surgical nursing
Licensed or eligible for license by the state of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Minimum of two years of teaching at the baccalaureate and masters levels
Commitment to the mission and values of the University and to the highest standards of the profession of Nursing
