Responsibilities include teaching all levels of Ballet Technique and Theory, Pointe, or Men’s Technique, and Pas de deux, and at least two or more of the following: Pedagogy, Music for Ballet Dancers, Choreography, or Orientation for Dance.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a terminal degree in a discipline directly related to the coursework being taught. Demonstrated successful teaching at the college or university level is required.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a MFA degree in DANCE or a related field OR any combination of education and experience totaling 6 year(s).
Knowledge of recruitment, advisement, and placement.
Skill in mentoring and advising students.
Skill in assessing student talents.
Skill in directing student performance groups and mentoring student choreography.
Grant writing and administrative skills highly desirable.
Ability to Design and teach courses in levels of Ballet Technique and Theory, Pointe or Men’s Technique, and Pas de deux.
Ability to design curriculum and teach courses in at least two of the following areas: Pedagogy, Music for Ballet Dancers, Choreography, or Orientation for Dance.
