DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING CAREER DEVELOPMENT

The University of Virginia (UVA) seeks nominations and applications for a dynamic leader to fill the position of Director of Engineering Career Development at the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). Under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean and consistent with the mission of the School, the Director manages all facets of career development by providing strategic and tactical leadership and direction to the SEAS career development team and all affiliate staff assigned to the career development function.
This position has primary oversight of the operations of Engineering Career Development within SEAS, including managing individual career counseling, implementing graduate and professional school fairs, and designing seminars, workshops, and programs that assist students in the exploration and development of their future career plans. In addition, the Director is responsible for representing SEAS on matters involving career development within the University community and to external stakeholders. This position will maintain and nurture existing relationships, as well as develop new relationships, with a significant base of employers – local, regional, national and international – who have an interest in recruiting and hiring UVA SEAS students and alumni for career-related internships and full-time positions.
