Quinnipiac University is seeking candidates for a new full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Philosophy, with specializations in ethics and in ancient philosophy, beginning Fall semester 2012. Additional expertise or teaching ability in medieval and/or 19th century philosophy is considered a plus. Position requires Ph.D. in Philosophy by the date of appointment.
In addition to teaching courses in introductory philosophy, ethics and ancient philosophy, the new faculty member will be expected to advise students in individual projects, to work closely with the University’s Albert Schweitzer Institute on programs that benefit all faculty and students, and to teach courses in the University’s general education core seminars on the theme of “community.”
