Quinnipiac University invites applications for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.  The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach reports to the Director of Strength and Conditioning.

Quinnipiac is an NCAA Division I institution affiliated with the MAAC Conference and the ECAC in hockey.    Quinnipiac sponsors 21 NCAA Division I sports. Women’s sports are:  Acrobatics & Tumbling,, Basketball,  Cross-Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rugby, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track (Indoor/Outdoor), and Volleyball.  Men’s sports are:  Baseball, Basketball, Cross-Country, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, and Tennis.

Position will be responsible for assisting in designing, instructing and supervising student athletes in the following: proper techniques of strength training movements, aerobic/anaerobic conditioning, speed development, power development, nutritional education, testing and evaluation protocols and flexibility programs. 

Position will work in conjunction with the athletic training staff and team physicians in regard to effective rehabilitation and treatment programs for injured student-athletes.

Position will assist in the training and supervision of student interns and volunteers as well as assisting in creating and maintaining proper records and databases; and over-see the operations and maintenance of all equipment.

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

Preferred Masters Degree with a minimum of 4 years experience and demonstrated knowledge and success in all areas of the strength and conditioning field including Olympic lifts, plyometric, speed development, and aerobic conditioning with an educational background in exercise science or related field, and supervisory experience.  Certification by NSCA required.  Experience in working with diversified groups of athletes, both male and female; basic computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
