The College of Science, Engineering, and Agriculture is currently undergoing a restructuring that includes the creation of a School of Agriculture as a separate administrative and academic unit within the University’s Division of Academic Affairs and will not be within the administrative responsibility of this position. The restructured College will house the Departments of Engineering & Technology; Computer Science & Information Systems; Biological & Environmental Sciences; Chemistry; Physics & Astronomy; Mathematics; and Applied Science. The dean of the soon-to-be-renamed College serves as the Chief Executive, Academic, and Integrity Officer in all matters related to administrative, academic and compliance domains of the College.
Requires the minimum of an earned doctorate (agriculture disciplines excluded) with five (5) or more years prior teaching experience in a university setting and an academic discipline represented by the College as well as an additional five (5) years or more administrative experience, at the department level or higher, including substantial personnel and budget responsibilities in an academic institution. Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential as well as the ability to deal with strenuous decision-making circumstances. An established and ongoing record of research productivity commensurate with an appointment at the full professor level with tenure in an appropriate department of the College is also required.
