Description of Duties:
Bentley University invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship in the Center for Integration of Science and Industry. The Center's research, outreach, and educational activities focus on developing an interdisciplinary understanding of the process by which scientific discoveries are translated to create public value. Successful applicants will be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff, students, and Executives in Residence under the supervision of Dr. Fred Ledley, Professor of Natural & Applied Sciences and Management. A particular focus of the Center's research is the role of technology readiness, business models, investment, management, and public policy on the success of drug development in the biopharmaceutical industry and improving health outcomes. Fellows will have an opportunity to learn business skills through research on business practices. This is a one-year appointment as post-doctoral fellow with the opportunity to extend for a second year based on satisfactory performance. The Center anticipates the availability of several positions becoming available in 2014-2015. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Candidates should have a doctorate degree, or equivalent terminal degree, in a relevant field of biomedical science including genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, or pharmaceutical science. Individuals with industry experience, and those interested in transitioning from biomedical science to careers in the biopharmaceutical industry, consulting, or investment are particularly encouraged to apply. Individuals must have strong communication and writing skills, the ability to work constructively in a highly interdisciplinary environment with professional colleagues and undergraduate students, and a commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards. Individuals must be proficient in routine computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, and facility with quantitative methods, common statistical analytical tools, and simple programming is preferred.
