An Academic Records Analyst evaluates, maintains and processes official transactions pertaining to student academic records at the University of La Verne; ensuring protection of student academic records in compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended. This position will focus on Admission Evaluations,and offer support to the Degree Completion process, including but not limited to Commencement.
Evaluate official transcripts to verify accreditation status and transferability of coursework, while utilizing several resources. Works closely with the La Verne Transfer Center, Faculty and Professional Advisors, and with Articulation staff at transfer institutions to research coursework previously not articulated. Responsible for ensuring integrity of all data contained in each student’s Banner record, including accuracy of transfer records, curriculum, and registration records. Ability to utilize Registrar Audited Degree Evaluations (CAPP reports) for newly admitted students, and the evaluation of new additional coursework, including making adjustments to individual CAPP reports based on Faculty approved major substitutions and changes to major requirements, major or minor contracts, and GE or transfer credit appeals. Assist the Degree Completion Coordinator with degree completion activities as needed for the degree posting process. Advise students regarding their student records, transfer credit, general education requirements, degree completion, Commencement information, appeals procedures, and other University and Registrar policies; communicate with Faculty and Staff Advisors regarding these topics and items of student concern. Support for Commencement related activities twice yearly. Use Banner to maintain and update student academic history, including the verification and processing of grade changes, academic appeals, course challenges and certifications, and entry of hard copy transcripts into online system. Assist with the inventory and log of incoming admission packets, transcripts, and Applications for Graduation into Access database logs, including the creation of Registrar folders. Perform clerical tasks, but not limited to, word processing, photocopying, filing, faxing and general office duties. Other duties as assigned by the Registrar, Associate Registrar, and Assistant Registrar.
Bachelor’s Degree.One year directly related experience.

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of University policies and procedures, strong technical skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills (in particular written communication), and a constant, careful attention to detail. Specific technical requirements include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, Banner INB, and general internet navigation; knowledge of networked database system is desirable. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
