FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION/ BIOCHEMISTRY: Division of Foundational Studies, and Liberal Arts & Sciences, Lawrence/Haverhill Campus. (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated start date; September, 2014 (Based on funding availability).
Teach chemistry and biology courses, advise students, maintain office hours, participate in college service and contribute to the enhancement of the curriculum including the development of online courses. A successful candidate should be able to teach various levels of chemistry and biology, such as Physiological Chemistry, General Chemistry and Introductory Biology.
A Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related field with teaching experience. Demonstrated ability to teach within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment required. Demonstrated sensitivity to academically disadvantaged students. The applicant must possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to demonstrate his/her ability and willingness to be involved in curriculum design and professional development in the area of chemistry and biology instruction. The applicant should be familiar with the use of technology in the classroom and have experience with multiple forms of course delivery.
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 to $65,000.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
