FULL-TIME FACULTY MEMBER, ELEMENTARY EDUCATION/MIDDLE/HIGH: Site location: Must be available for all locations. (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2014.  Hiring Contingent on Available Budget Resources

Coordinate educational activities within Elementary, Middle and High School program options at NECC.  Teach courses and contribute to the enhancement of the Education curriculum with particular emphasis on innovation in career and transfer degrees and programs and development of online courses.  Prepare curriculum and graduates for a teaching environment shaped by the Common Core and PARCC and Smarter Balance assessments.  Academically advise students; maintain office hours; and participate in college service.  Attend off campus meetings.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Education or related field with at least 2 years of college teaching experience.  Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.  Experience in curriculum design and implementation. Demonstrated commitment to professional development in the area of Education instruction.  Ability to teach the following courses:  Introduction to Teaching, Introduction to Special Education, Language & Literacy in Education and Diversity and Multiculturalism in Education.  This position requires knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

PREFERENCES: 

Experience teaching in Elementary Education and Special Education.  Community College teaching experience.  Willingness to teach within the community and develop partnerships with community agencies and the college.



Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package.  Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
