Job Description:

  • Provide the array of traditional student support services including enrollment,  financial aid, academic career/vocational,  and transfer advising; administer and interpret academic  and personal assessments; develop and administer support workshops in collaboration with other College offices; consult with faculty and staff; explore supporting resources and make appropriate referral; and serve as a liaison to community agencies.
  • Assist with the advisement and registration of new students regarding their academic plan, course selection/sequencing, curriculum/concentration selection and changes, and transition issues.
  • Monitor and provide support to students who are on academic probation
  • Provide assistance and support for special student programming related to student retention.
  • Participate in the implementation of the College's Life map initiative, a comprehensive philosophy of engaging students in the creation and continued assessment of an academic, career and life plan.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or a closely related field; with three {3) years experience and/or training involving college admissions, academic advisement, career development,  or program/project  management;  or an equivalent  combination  of education, training and experience
  • Experience working with students in a student services/client services or equivalent setting
  • Proficiency in student information systems as well as MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
  • Experience working with the Veterans community and/or as a Veterans advisor preferred.

Additional Information

Pay rate: $25.50 per hour for 18 hours per week. No benefits.
