Detailed Job Description

The Department of Modern Languages invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Spanish to begin August 2012.
Teach undergraduate courses in Spanish, day, evening, and weekend, as needed; ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a culturally-diverse urban population; and advise students in the major. Engage in professional development and scholarly activity; assist with assessment and development of programs and curriculum congruent with the mission of the college.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English; evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching, including general education courses; experience with proficiency-based language instruction; interest and capability in new and emerging learning and instructional technologies and their integration in the teaching environment and service

learning; previous experience in teaching foreign language methodology is a plus.
